A Hack-A-Thon is an event focused onaction-oriented innovation for the future of Health. The SOAR Appalachian Health Hackathon was modeled after MIT's Hacking Medicine Program, which helps develop solutions to some of the toughest problems in medicine. This event was the first of its kind in Kentucky. While Appalachia Kentucky faces many challenges, bringing communities together to create innovative solutions is the key. This was a three day event held at the Center for Rural Development in Somerset, KY on October 6th - 8th, 2016. We kicked off the event with an Ignite Session and Reception that was open to the public. Friday morning the participents pitched problems and teams formed to create innovative solutions.
