PREVENTION, TREATMENT, AND LONG-TERM CONSEQUENCES
The Community Health and Wellness Advisory Council of Shaping Our Appalachian Region (SOAR) seeks to learn more about the current challenges and emerging issues associated with substance abuse and intravenous drug use in Kentucky.
They held a Substance Abuse Rountable on April 7th, 2016 at Natural Bridge National Park. The purpose of the roundtable and focus session were to gather input from multisector stakeholders from around the SOAR region and begin to formulate a regional strategic action plan. The roundtable discussion focused on sharing ideas, feedback, experience and insights. It provided a forum for an informal and interactive discussion. Discussion topics were generally directed to substance abuse prevention, treatment, and long-term consequences.
